Having a dryer will save you a lot of time and space in your home. Using this incredible invention is way easier than individually hanging your laundry and waiting for it to dry. But as incredible as this appliance is, you have to take care of it in order for it to last a long time and also work properly.
Today, I will tell you how I clean my dryer so that you can follow each step I take!
How to Properly Clean Your Dryer?
The most important thing when cleaning your dryer is to pay attention to the dryer vent and remove lint from it. When is it time to do this? When you take clothes out of the dryer and you notice they are still damp. This means that there is lint build-up that is getting in the way of the appliance working properly.
First, you need to clean the lint screen by removing it from the dryer and then wiping the lint with a brush. I also recommend you wipe the screen with a fabric softener sheet to get rid of the residue as fast as possible – after all, you don’t want to waste too much time on this chore, right?
You also need to clean the lint trap – the area where the filter is. I use a long brush to do this by twisting the brush and picking up the lint. Then I vacuum the brush and continue with these steps until I am happy with the result.
You also need to clean inside the dryer because that’s where the impurities are piling up. If you have placed an item of clothing with stains in your dryer then these stains have most likely transferred to the drum which will also transfer to other clothes you place in the appliance.
In order to do this, I unplug the machine, Then I pour warm water into a bowl and add liquid soap to it. I damp cloth in the soapy water and start wiping the drum and interior of the dryer.
