I have a jetted tub in my home – and I absolutely love it. To be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of it in the beginning, however, as time passed by and I gave it a few tries, I fell in love with it. I usually sit in it for a few hours every week so I can relax.
Of course, as much as I enjoy using it, the cleaning part annoys me… a lot. I had a hard time figuring out how to properly clean my jetted tub – without damaging it. I also didn’t know how to disinfect it – and both of these things are extremely important.
So I started researching and seeing how other people cleaned their tubs. Many use commercial cleaners, however, I am not a big fan of those. In fact, I try to stay away from them due to my allergies. All those harsh chemicals that are packed in the cleaners trigger allergic reactions which is why I prefer using natural ingredients!
How To Clean Your Jetted Tub With Natural Ingredients
It turns out that cleaning a jetted tub is not as complicated as I thought – and you only need a few ingredients.
Fill the tub with water until the jets are covered. Use hot water!
Then add two tablespoons of liquid soap and around 1/2 cup of bleach. Of course, if you don’t want to use bleach you can use a cup of vinegar instead.
Next, run the jets for 10-15 minutes. Continue with emptying the tub then refilling it. This time, use cold water. Run the jets one more time.
Lastly, drain the tub then rinse it very well.
